Theodore A. Chester, Jr., joined the firm's predecessor in 1982 and currently serves as the firm's managing partner.

In private law matters, Mr. Chester has extensive experience in handling tax, commercial and estate cases and transactions. In litigation, he has successfully represented the firm's clients in commercial disputes and favorably resolved several multimillion-dollar sales tax, tax shelter, and water-related tax audits. His transactional work includes acting as corporate counsel for the firm's long-time manufacturing and farming clients on substantial real estate, joint venture, corporate acquisition, and lender finance transactions.

Mr. Chester also handles a wide variety of litigation and transactions in the public sector, with a special emphasis on protecting water rights. From the early eighties, Mr. Chester has successfully engaged in cases and transactions relating to state water rights and federal reclamation statutes and contracts. Mr. Chester has represented landowners, water users, and districts concerning issues of water quantity, price, and drainage and defended their rights against interference by governments, juniors and others. |
